Journal (1)

Wow, I've finally brought myself into blogging about things that happened. Where should I start?

Let's start way back in April. We had this super annoying assignment to do for Engineering Drawing. We were given a task to draw the location plan, site plan, isometric view, etc of a luxurious house. Maybe like those you see in MTV Cribs. Haha. Some decided to just get some real house plans and trace them. Some adapted from the plans they found in the internet. As for me group, our architect/engineer Ir Tang, decided to create it all with his own hands. Behold, his idea and our masterpiece!

Heck, it was so tedious i bet most of them who were drawing this had the Lily Allen song in their heads. But it was fun, nonetheless. Staying up till wee hours in the morning completing the project with a bunch of coursemates. Haha, for this project i didn't take part in the brains. Just draw and and trace. Sorry to my team mates I disappeared for a long time on one of the nights cos CF farewell for seniors also chun chun coincide then. BUT, i made up for it. i hope. ngehehe.

Then there was the "Last" CG Dinner (which was not the last cos we kept having another and another last CG dinner) at Tao. Good company. Mediocre food, as i recalled. Didn't live up to the expectations. Seniors and friends all around kept saying how nice how nice, how good how good. It was ok larh, not delicious, but the quantity triumphed lar.

Beautiful CGL posing for the cam ;p

Leng cai birthday boy and leng lui

Somehow Tao from everywhere likes to have this as decoration o.O

Can order as much as you want as long as you can finish. But for RM50 you get to order things like Abalone, Chesse Scallaps, Tempura, Steamed Unagi, Sashimi, etc endlessly. It's worth it lar. Haha. My table for one, kept ordering just these few "eat-back-your-money" food thanks to Simon. So sick of those after the dinner. haha.

Then I had a CF retreat at Maxwell Hill during study week. Nice place! A good place to chill out after a hectic semester and recharge thyself before the finals. The ride to the chalet was one of a kind. Even better than Initial D. Wahlao eh! The driver drove up the slope and took 170 degrees turns at crazy speed man. It was so near the cliff that one wrong move could send us plunging down the hill. The place is cool evening onwards. But the carpet for the chalet looked as if it has been there since donkey years. Yucks. The bed isn't as damp as those you find in Permai Resorts. Nice place. Nice retreat. Good planning. Heh.

Lunch at Indian Store. Nice.

Phew, please tune in for more. This is part one. Blogging is tiring. Phew... I need a nap.

The Terminal

Finally get to watch "The Terminal". Heard lots of comments saying it's a good movie. Well, it is. I was quite surprised that Tom Hanks acted as a non-English speaker, and having a thick Bulgarian accent as well. He's a brilliant actor.
Catherine Zeta-Jones was stunning as usual. hee hee :D But there's something about the ending that I must point out though. The scriptwriter wrote something out of the expectations. Usually, you'd just assume that the happy ending is that both the main characters got together, all conflicts resolved and everything. Well, ****SPOILER AHEAD**** in The Terminal, Amelia (Zeta-Jones) and Viktor (Hanks) didn't get together in the end. :(

My opinion is that could be the perfect ending everyone could dream of. But, it's also nicely written that way. It kinda tells the viewers that reality will strike you in the end, and there's no fairy-tale ending in real life. Although we watch movies, wishing for the fairy-tale element, a happy ever after, despite the cliche plot that you may have seen it coming, just to escape from reality for a second or two. Darn that stung of reality. :p

Just Emotions?

Something i found in a friend's blog. Enjoy, and learn.

Love Is an Action

by Rick Warren
Love is something you do. Do you really love someone? Let's see how you act toward that person. You show love by what you do, not just by what you feel.

Love is more than attraction and more than arousal. It's also more than sentimentality, like so many of today's songs suggest. By this standard, is love dead when the emotion is gone? No, not at all, because love is an action; love is a behavior.

Over and over again in the Bible, God commands us to love each other. And you can't command an emotion. If I told you to "Be sad!" right now, you couldn't be sad on cue. Just like an actor, you can fake it, but you're not wired for your emotions to change on command. Have you ever told a little kid, "Be happy!" I'm trying, daddy!

If love were just an emotion, then God couldn't command it. But love is something you do; it can produce emotion, but love is an action.

The Bible says, "Let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions" (1 John 3:18 NLT). We can talk a good act: "I love people." But do we really love them? Our love is revealed in how we act toward them.

Similarity

I just found out there's similarity between Yiruma's song 'Gabriel' and St Jo's formation piece last year. Interesting. I like it anyways.

Restoration

Broken, restored;
lost, redeemed;
forsaken, reconciled.
